Lagoons and lakes
Limestone shapes much of northern Palawan. El Nido's cliffs and the karst of Coron Island enclose sheltered coves, lagoons and lakes, most of them reached by boat.
On Coron Island, Kayangan Lake is a brackish lake kept by the Tagbanua, whose ancestral domain covers the island; fifteen of Coron's listed attractions are there, and visits follow the community's rules.
