Twin Lagoon
Twin Lagoon is a pair of pools on Coron Island, closed in by sheer limestone and joined only through a narrow gap in the rock wall between them. Boats moor in the outer pool.
At low tide there is room to swim under the wall into the inner lagoon. When the water is higher, visitors cross on a wooden ladder fixed to the rock.
Cool fresh water and warmer sea water meet here in alternating layers, which is why locals call the lagoons the strange waters. The entrance fee is collected from each boat and goes to the Tagbanwa community whose ancestral domain covers the island.
